Two cups created as companions.
 
I hand-formed this pair together, painting each cup in energetic relationship with the other.
 
Beginning with deep brown clay, I applied flowing black and deep red glazes that meet in a gently curving line across each cup. The colours seem to dance with one another, responding to the rounded form and revealing the beauty that arises when contrasting energies remain in relationship.
 
During their making, I placed the cups within an infinity symbol of rose petals on my altar, allowing that symbol of enduring love to become part of their creation.
 
As I worked, I read poems on loving devotion from the Radiance Sutras, inviting those words into every stage of the process.
 
These contrasting colours remind us that the spark of attraction often lives in our differences. Living polarity isn't about one person changing to become more like the other. It's about honouring our unique qualities while allowing them to meet with curiosity, respect, and love. When we embrace both our similarities and our differences, relationship becomes a place of continual discovery.

Each Lovers' Cup is embossed with my Hihemmm symbol—my tantric name, meaning creator of love—which I place on every piece as a quiet blessing for the relationship it is invited to serve.
